Author Earnings has released its September 2015 Earnings Report, and the data stands in opposition to the media’s coverage of the book industry.
Ebook sales are on the rise in both units and dollars. The media, however, continues to report only the Big 5’s tale of woe, claiming that ebook sales are flat and print sales are on the rise.
The reality is that ebook sales not subject to the Big 5’s inflated pricing are climbing by every measure. (Note that these numbers don’t even reflect the full impact of the return to agency pricing, which will kick in with a vengeance in the coming months.)
